CAPS has been instrumental in my professional growth and career decision-making. Before CAPS, I was torn between pursuing a desk job or entering the trades. Thanks to CAPS I've realized that a desk job isn't my fit. I thrive with tools in hand and welding pipe. CAPs also put me in various environment that made me more comfortable speaking with working professionals in the field.
CAPS has been pivotal in my journey of discovering and nurturing a passion for user interface and user experience design. Through CAPS, I've gained both the experience and background necessary to pursue this field. Additionally, the program has enhanced my public speaking and networking abilities, enabling effective communication with colleagues and peers, thus opening doors to better career opportunities. It has provided me with essential skills in web design and various applications relevant to UI/UX design, while also teaching me the importance of finding optimal solutions rather than seeking easy paths. Overall, CAPS has equipped me with the tools and mindset needed to excel in my future endeavors in UI/UX design
The CAPS program has empowered me to evolve into a self-assured and inquisitive student. A recurring theme in CAPS is to grant students the liberty to explore topics that captivate their interest. For instance, in the Technology Solutions Strand, we received a Raspberry Pi and were tasked with creating something innovative. In the Global Business and Entrepreneurship Strand, we were challenged to transform $10 into $100. What unites these distinct programs is their shared objective of fostering skills like problem-solving and leadership, fostering a proactive approach to learning among students.
CAPS exposed me to diverse IT roles, aiding in my career decision-making. It sparked my interest in networking, providing valuable knowledge applicable to my work at an MSP. Recognizing the importance of both technical and soft skills, CAPS emphasized the necessity for success in this field. It instilled in me the understanding that adaptation is crucial in the ever-changing IT landscape. Thanks to CAPS, I approached my degree, certifications, and job searches with increased confidence. Mr. O's dedication to his students left a lasting impression, and I look back fondly on my time at CAPS

While my field has shifted a little since being in CAPS, I still have a baseline knowledge of what coworkers and classmates are doing. Despite being in a slightly different line of work, It helps me connect with them and their work. I felt more confident navigating the "professional world" because of CAPS. It was no longer so scary, but exciting and familiar.
CAPS significantly improved my career prospects by offering practical skills, networking opportunities, and industry exposure. Having completed an internship prior to my job search not only helped me secure employment but also provided valuable insights into the role. Through CAPS, I gained hands-on experience, industry exposure, and valuable networking opportunities.
