Contributing as a guest speaker for the St. Charles County CAPS program has been an enriching experience. I kick off each year by providing an overview of the CliftonStrengths assessment, then return later to facilitate workshops, helping students understand and apply their strengths throughout the program and into their future careers. Working with students in this pivotal life stage has been a blessing, allowing me to address their challenges and coach them through decision-making processes. As a guest speaker for the CAPS program, I've had the privilege of presenting alongside my teammates multiple times. Our engagement with the CAPS program includes client project and sponsoring internships. Partnering with CAPS has enabled us to broaden our community outreach by empowering local youth. Hands on training and education is the most effective method for learning. Access to the thoughts and idea of our youth is a huge benefit. CAPS is an amazing opportunity for our youth to not only learn about a career but to walk in the shoes of people doing that job. It allows them to learn via experience and therefore make educated decisions about their potential career paths. How better to learn about your potential career then to step into that career and see it from the inside.

I was the guest speaker on the second day of school last August. John Omoresemi invited me to talk about business and take LinkedIn-style headshots for his students. Since then, several have connected with me on LinkedIn and engaged me in conversation when I see them at various business and chamber functions. I enjoyed the experience and was happy to provide them with a professional headshot. Building community connections is a pleasure. It's great to know John Omoresemi, and I've also met Erica Land and encountered some of the students around.

I've had the pleasure of engaging with the CAPS Program through guest speaking and client projects. Each interaction with CAPS associates has been enriching. They are professional, eager to learn, and provide profound insights. Our nonprofit, Cottleville Firefighters Outreach (CFO), collaborated with two associates through the CAPS technology track. Celebrating 15 years of community service, we sought to create a heartfelt video thanking our stakeholders. The associates demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and creativity from the start, delivering a final product that exceeded expectations and moved our guests to tears. We were grateful for the opportunity to witness their growth and development throughout the project. The CAPS program provides invaluable experiences for students, offering exposure to various career paths and networking opportunities. It's a unique educational experience that fosters both personal and professional growth. Interacting with CAPS students has given me confidence in our future workforce and community leaders. I'm excited to witness their contributions to St. Charles County in the years to come.

Hosting the CAPS program with the Boeing St. Charles Weapons team has been an enlightening experience. On multiple occasions, we've welcomed CAPS students, providing assembly line tours of our Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) line and demonstrating our Weapons Visualization Center (WVC). Understanding the perspective of our future workforce is crucial for us to stay ahead in technology and shape our business in directions that are both enjoyable and challenging for new hires. The CAPS program leader and students have been truly impressive. They are consistently respectful, punctual, and professionally dressed. Their attentiveness and active participation make hosting the CAPS program a pleasure every time. Engaging with the CAPS program for about a year has allowed us to build a network with prospective professionals, led by a dedicated leader. We've encountered bright and talented young individuals who have shared their positive experiences with others. Connecting with them on platforms like LinkedIn allows us to continue supporting and advocating for these emerging professionals as they enter the workforce. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to host the CAPS program again and meet more remarkable students in the future.

I engage with the St. Charles County CAPS as a guest speaker on Personal Branding and Networking. I enjoy staying in touch with students to understand their career aspirations to offer guidance and support whether they want to work for Commerce or not - I just want them to have the resources and relationships needed to be successful! I’m continually impressed by the caliber of students in the CAPS program. I am honored to be a part of their learning journey! CAPS is preparing our next generation of leaders and continues to level up the experience. I continue to learn alongside them every year I speak to them! This is a unique experience that allows students the opportunity to be hands on and meet professionals in their field of interest very early on in their career exploration.

Our engagement as an internship sponsor provides us with fresh perspectives to our business and how we approach it. We've been able to have CAPS associates help us with projects that are slightly outside of our normal routine to great effect while providing them with real-world experience. Having the CAPS students actually come to our facility throughout the duration of the multi-month program helps both us and them build enough genuine awareness of each other to be productive. We have current staff who we hired on after meeting them through CAPS as well as a number of pieces of our technology infrastructure that remain part of our ongoing operation that were the result of projects CAPS students did for us.

I've been privileged to engage with the CAPS program as a guest speaker, covering topics such as True Colors Assessment and Unconscious Bias, in addition to offering assistance with LinkedIn Optimization, Interviewing, Resume Writing, and Personal Branding in previous years. It's fulfilling to support a demographic I aspire to assist in the future. CAPS stands out from other educational collaborations in its comprehensive preparation for life and adulthood. Witnessing students embark on career exploration through tours and discovering their paths sets CAPS apart. This proactive approach to career development is uncommon in most high schools. As students transition to college, I've observed their heightened level of career marketing, poised to support their future endeavors. I have had the opportunity to engage with the CAPS program as a guest speaker. John provides an excellent platform to expose students to businesses and vice versa, allowing individuals within the business to offer real-world examples through collaborative and engaging presentations/discussions. Charter Communications has participated in the technology strand of the St. Charles County CAPS Program since its inception, having had the opportunity to play many roles including lead sponsor, facility host, organizing site visits, delivering technology presentations, offering mentoring, and providing internships. The CAPS Program has provided our organization with the unique opportunity to interact and foster greater interest in technology skills and careers for the future. These students represent the lifeblood of our future growth for our organization and the community. CAPS engages students in an experiential learning environment that many don't get to experience prior to college, providing a unique blend of professional development and technical learning, along with the establishment of a foundational network that they can leverage in the future. I've been involved in hosting site visits at Stauder Technologies and have served as the director of our CAPS internship program. Our engagement with CAPS has been incredibly beneficial for our organization. It ignites youthful enthusiasm among our engineers and offers them the chance to mentor the next generation of bright minds. The interns' presence sparks stimulating conversations and allows us to explore projects we wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to work on. While we haven't engaged in many other educational collaborations, the professionalism of the CAPS program, its passionate leaders, and the students' eagerness to learn make the internship easy to support. CAPS has provided us with several opportunities. Firstly, it helps us reach out to students, which is crucial for a small business like ours where recruiting can be challenging. By introducing CAPS interns and site visitors to our work, we expand our network of potential future employees. Additionally, we've found a long-term employee through CAPS, and we've chosen to fund their collegiate education in exchange for a commitment to work with us after graduation. Working with CAPS also connects us with our local education system and its leaders, engaging Stauder Technologies with the community in ways we hadn't done before. Our employees take pride in serving as mentors and supporting the next generation. A special thanks to John O for making the internship process easy to participate in.
